This Enfield/Smiths mantel clock directly dates to manufacture on 16 January 1941. Its oak casing and roman numeral dial have been expertly restored, and its 8-day wind-up movement runs like a charm. Its Westminister chime will be the sentimental point of your home for many years to come.
History of Enfield/Smiths:
The company was sold to Smiths in 1933 and became part of Smiths English Clocks Ltd (q.v.), but continued trading fairly independently until around 1938. From c1952 all clocks were simply marked Smiths and the Enfield name was lost.
